Knock-Out Wings
This is a commemorative rebrand, out of love for the restaurant.
Now closed, Knock-Out Wings was the essential community wing stop in North Nashville for decades. Feeding hungry locals, college kids, church-goers, workers, and more, KO Wings' visual identity system never quite lived up to the flavors it served out with a smile.
This concept reimagines its identity system in a way that pays respects to its Nashville roots, professional boxing theming, and old-school, mom-and-pop community presence.
The overhauled brand logos feature stars from the Tennessee flag. "Seeings stars" is also a term associated with the result of a "knock out" – this is especially visualized in old cartoons.
The "KO Chicken" mascot was overhauled as well, taking on more realistic features and donning 1930's boxing garb. He can be seen throughout the system speaking and punching. The new stacked motto "Wings & Things From the Ville" is a more streamlined and unique evolution of the old tagline "Something Different, Something Good".
